The Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip opened on January 16, 1964. Originally a club that featured go-go dancing, the Whisky became the center of the Hollywood music scene in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and still continues today. Band’s such as The Doors, Motley Crue and Guns N’ Roses were regular performers on the Whisky stage in their early stages of their careers. It would be impossible to list all the bands that played this landmark club but a few are: The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Van Halen, Ratt, Black Sabbath, The Runaways, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Cream and many, many more.
