US Festival – Glen Helen Regional Park, Devore, California. 

Sept. 3 – 5, 1982, May 28 – 30, 1983 & June 4, 1983.

The legendary US Festivals were held on this site on Labor Day weekend in 1982 and Memorial Day weekend in 1983. Organized by Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak, the festivals drew crowds of almost 400,000 people. Acts that played the Labor Day weekend shows included The Police, The Kinks, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Jimmy Buffett, Jackson Browne and Fleetwood Mac. The Memorial Day shows included The Clash, Motley Crue, Van Halen, David Bowie, U2 and Ozzy OsbourneVan Halen entered the Guinness Book Of World Records for receiving the largest single concert fee of $1.5 million.

About an hour East of Los Angeles, today, San Manuel Amphitheater sits on the site. It is the largest amphitheater in the United States.
