Lido Apartments, 6500 Yucca St., Los Angeles, CA

The front cover of the iconic 1976 album Hotel California by the Eagles features a David Alexander photograph of the Beverly Hills Hotel. For the photograph, Alexander had to climb in a cherry picker and rise 60 feet in the air over Sunset Boulevard in rush hour while shooting into the sun. The hotel opened in 1912 and has since been a popular place for celebrities and royalty to stay while in Beverly Hills.

The back cover of the album was shot at the Lido Hotel in Hollywood. The photo features the band and friends in the hotel lobby. The Lido has been renovated and turned into Apartments.

The album has sold 32 million copies worldwide.
