Swarkstone Hall Pavilion, Swarkstone, Derbyshire, England.

In June 1968, the Rolling Stones had a photo shoot with Michael Joeseph at the Swarkstone Pavilion for the album Beggar’s Banquet. One of the photos ended up being used for the Stones’ compilation album Hot Rocks. Beggars Banquet was re-released in a different sleeve without these pictures.

The pavilion was constructed between 1630-32 and it’s many years of neglect is evident in the Stone’s photo. In 1985 a trust renovated and mostly reconstructed the pavilion. Today you can now rent the building. For more information visit here.
