1525 McGavock St., Nashville, TN

On January 10 and 11, 1956, Elvis Presley recorded what would be his first single for RCA Records at the RCA studio on McGavock Street in Nashville.   The song was “Heartbreak Hotel” and by the end of 1956 it would be the top-selling single of the year, earning Elvis his first gold record and forever changing rock n’ roll history. By 1957, RCA would move it’s studio to a new location on Music Row (RCA Studio B), while the McGavock studio would go through various incarnations of studios and offices through the years. In 2006, the building was demolished for a parking lot for a car dealership.
