Jimi Hendrix – Spanish Castle Magic
Near the intersection of Pacific Highway South & Kent-Des Moines Road, Seattle, WA
As a young teenage guitar player, Jimi Hendrix used to frequent this teen club located between Seattle and Tacoma to watch bands such as the Wailers perform. Hendrix would often volunteer his services on the guitar to the many bands that played there. Years later, Hendrix wrote “Spanish Castle Magic” about the place. The Spanish Castle was demolished in April, 1968. Today a Walgreens and a gas station occupy the spot of its former location.
