Bruce Springsteen’s E Street band was founded in October 1972. The band took its name from the street in Belmar, New Jersey where the band practiced. The original band included David Sancious on keyboards, Garry Tallent on bass, Clarence Clemons on saxophone, Danny Federici on keyboards, Vini Lopez on drums and Dana Smith on tuba. The band rehearsed in the garage of Sancious’ mother’s house at 1107 E Street in Belmar, New Jersey. Incidentally, the house is about a block away from 10th Avenue (as in “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out”).  In 2014, the band was inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
