Carly Simon – “No Secrets” Album Cover Location
22 Stanley Gardens, London, UK.
Carly Simon’s breakthrough album, No Secrets, cover was photographed by Ed Caraeff in front of the Portobello Hotel in London, England. The album, released in November, 1972 featured Simon’s mega-hit “You’re So Vain.” The album spent five weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts and “You’re So Vain” spent three weeks at #1.
The subject of “You’re So Vain” has been long held mystery that Simon has never officially divulged. Simon has confirmed that it’s a composite of several men. Some have speculated it to be about Mick Jagger (who sings background vocals on the track) and Warren Beatty. On August 5, 2003, Simon auctioned off the information to the winner of a charity function for $50,000, with the condition that the winner (TV exec, Dick Ebersol) never reveal who it is.
